Test Engineer

1 Alpha Consulting is hiring a remote Test Engineer (USA only) to support accessibility compliance for Pennsylvania Department of State digital systems.

The role focuses on accessibility validation, remediation support, and compliance reporting across web, mobile, and document interfaces.

• Lead accessibility testing and validation aligned to WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards.
• Develop and execute manual and automated accessibility test cases.
• Collaborate with developers/designers/stakeholders to identify and resolve accessibility issues.
• Provide accessibility best-practice guidance across digital interfaces.
• Generate testing reports, track remediation progress, and support compliance alignment.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to accessibility process improvements.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Test Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• IAAP certifications requested: CPACC, WAS, CPWA, and ADS.
• Proven software/web test engineering experience focused on accessibility compliance.
• Proficiency with tools such as axe, JAWS, NVDA, WAVE, or similar.
• Experience on public-sector/government IT projects.
• Knowledge of Agile development/testing methodologies.
• Ability to interpret and apply Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and ADA standards.
• Strong documentation, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.

• Experience in distributed remote QA teams.
• Experience with accessibility testing for citizen-facing public services.
