About the Position
The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competency in serving diverse community college populations, including faculty, management, and students from varied ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. This includes those with differing abilities, AB 540 students, DACA recipients, Foreign Residents, VACA participants, and Continuing Education students. Representative Duties
The Biology Department at Santa Ana College is seeking a new laboratory technician on our technical support team, with concentration on physiology and microbiology. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in biological science, life science, or pharmacological science, plus adequate experience in standard techniques used in biological laboratories. Preferred candidates should be familiar with principles and practices of good health and safety management, hazardous materials storage and handling, and hazardous/ biohazardous waste management and disposal. This position requires excellent aseptic techniques, ability to work with preserved animal specimens, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. We are looking for a detail-oriented laboratory professional who works collaboratively, to join our team.
Organizational Relationships
This Science Laboratory Coordinator receives direction from academic and administrative staff and exercises functional and technical supervision over student and part-time assistants. The Science Laboratory Coordinator serves as liaison between the department and vendors of materials for science laboratories.
