Design Manager - Aviation - Senior

This role leads complex airport terminal projects for Gensler's Aviation practice, from early planning through construction closeout, owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality while acting as the main point of contact for airport sponsors, airlines, and authorities. The manager coordinates a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and mentors talent while driving design excellence on the project.

• Lead day-to-day project delivery across all phases: planning, programming, concept, schematic design, design development, documentation, procurement, and construction administration
• Serve as the primary client liaison for airport sponsors, airlines, authorities having jurisdiction, and program/construction managers
• Build and manage integrated work plans, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate architecture, interiors, wayfinding, structural, MEP, fire protection, IT/low-voltage, baggage systems, security, sustainability, and specialty consultants
• Oversee QA/QC, code analysis, and technical reviews (including IBC, ADA, NFPA, FAA Advisory Circulars, and TSA/CBP requirements)
• Lead documentation and delivery in Revit
• Mentor talent and advance design excellence

• Architectural experience
• Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary airport/terminal projects from planning through closeout
• Knowledge of applicable codes and requirements: IBC, ADA, NFPA, FAA Advisory Circulars, TSA/CBP
• Proficiency with Revit for project documentation
