Infection Control Specialist

This role leads infection control (IC) efforts across the health system, driving surveillance, investigation, and resolution of nosocomial (healthcare-associated) infections while ensuring compliance with regulatory and CDC standards.

• Initiate infection control measures system-wide according to accepted standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain records and prepare reports related to infection control data
• Conduct infection surveillance activities to identify, investigate, document, and help resolve nosocomial infection issues
• Maintain infection control policies and procedures in line with state and regulatory agency requirements and ensure compliance
• Plan, develop, and direct staff education on infection control policies and standards
• Identify actual/potential patient and employee exposures and respond per CDC recommendations, regulatory requirements, and company policy
• Maintain professional relationships with physicians, employees, and leaders to support identification and reduction of infections
