Description Of WorkThe Assistive Technologist is responsible for providing technical support and consultation related to assistive technology for individuals with disabilities,
professionals, and community partners. This position plays a key role in helping consumers, families, schools, employers, and agencies identify and access technology solutions that promote independence, accessibility, and inclusion. This role includes demonstrating devices, managing device loans, delivering training, conducting assessments, facilitating train-the-trainer sessions, and offering technical assistance and consultative services. Services may be offered on both a complimentary and fee-based basis. The position also involves overseeing the equipment loan program. This position is based in Greenville, NC and provides direct service delivery across Greenville and surrounding counties. The Assistive Technologist collaborates closely with North Carolina Assistive Technology Program (NCATP) staff statewide, as well as Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) counselors, to provide comprehensive assistive technology services across multiple Eastern NC counties.
