Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist

Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. We are seeking a Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist to ensure digital documents, web content, training materials, and multimedia products meet federal accessibility requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with document remediation, accessibility testing, and quality assurance. This is a fully remote position based in the United States.

Responsibilities

Review and remediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, web, and multimedia content for Section 508 compliance. Correct document structure, reading order, headings, tables, forms, hyperlinks, color contrast, and alternative text. Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing, including assistive technology checks. Validate conformance with applicable Section 508 and WCAG requirements. Prepare accessibility findings, remediation logs, and compliance documentation. Provide practical accessibility guidance to content, communications, training, and web teams.

At least 1 year of Section 508 accessibility remediation experience. Proficiency remediating PDF and Microsoft 365 documents. Knowledge of federal accessibility requirements and WCAG Level AA success criteria. Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies. Strong attention to detail, quality assurance, documentation, and client communication skills. Ability to obtain government clearance. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. High School Diploma or GED.

DHS Trusted Tester, IAAP CPACC, IAAP WAS, or related accessibility certification. Experience supporting higher education or federal government programs or contracts. Experience with SharePoint Online and accessible multimedia.
